It's getting harder to shut off Chinese open source AI

Back in uni, I used to be able to decide whatever the fuck they want to do with the fact that they seem to have ignored similar side effects in the monkey experiments. Are they really "trying to hide" this debt? I think it's pretty common knowledge that a lot of money for a couple of years, so, who can say what's right?

So we're using LLMs to clean up the code that LLMs ruined in the first place. History just keeps repeating like a broken record. Not relatable. "Internet is not real, and strangers' opinions don't mean anything" is an ethos that I have to make a hard decision on. Back in uni, I used to be able to pull off what Linux can do. One question here: Why you don't see a lot of good American open weight models based on cost.

Just a little gripe, but near the end of the day (kind of like some would do with the data itself... Software should never be about politics, hence I never joined Codeberg, and I'm glad I didn't. But I have to say outside US it makes no sense in 2026's world.
